Bonnie Marie Smith, of Wasilla, AK, formerly of Kansas City and New Franklin, passed away January 7, 2016 at Matsu Regional Hospital in Palmer, AK.  She was 89 years old.

Bonnie was born September 26, 1926 in New Franklin to the late Locke and Hilda Amick.  She married Van Smith and he preceded her in death.  Prior to retirement she was employed at Kansas City North Middle School.

Survivors include two children, Pam Howells of Wasilla, AK and Mike Smith of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Smith and by two sisters, Helen Lang and Hilda Koelling.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville.  Family and friends will gather for luncheon at 12:00 p.m. at the New Franklin United Methodist Church prior to the graveside service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Walnut Grove Cemetery.
