     Dorothy May (Stevens) Wilhoit, of rural Centralia, MO, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in Columbia, MO.  She was born 92 years ago on May 23, in Kansas City, MO, to William C. and Esther R (Eggleston) Stevens. On December 31, 1946, she married James D. Wilhoit; they were Parents to Joyce E Thompson of Columbia, MO, Jack E. Wilhoit of Centralia, and John S. (Rhyllis) Wilhoit, also of Centralia. 

     Besides filling her roles admirably as “Daughter, Wife, and Mother”, she was:

- “Grandma” to Rebecca (Mike) Hapner, AR; Paula (Paul) Hoover, TX, and Angela B. (Wayne) Tompkins, MO.

- “Great Grandma” to Jesse Hoover, Talia Tompkins, Nelson Hoover, Tuscan Tompkins, and Adelia Hapner.

- “Sister” to William E. (Deanna) Stevens, IN, who survives; and to Frank C. (Nancy), Francis L., Robert L. (Anne), and Helen M. (Kenneth) Wilhoit, all who preceded her in death.

- “Sister-in-law” to Helen Wilhoit, Betty Wilhoit and Wayne Wahlbrink, all who survive; and to Eula, Gerald, Lowell, and Alma Wahlbrink, all who preceded her in death.  Alma Lou (Forsland) Wilhoit was a Sister-in-law for many years as well.

- “Aunt” to extended family members—Stevens: 11, Wilhoit: 10.  Three nephews and one niece preceded her in death.

- “Step-Grandmother” to Delwyn (Julie) Kleffman, WA; Darwyn Kleffman, SD; and JoDel Gough, ME.

- “Friend in Faith” to too many to name…

- “Neighbor” to her wonderful, caring neighbors in Country Meadows!

    The funeral service will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, at the Bach-Yager Funeral Home, 1610 N. Garth Avenue, Columbia, MO, with the visitation preceding the service, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be Tuesday a.m. at the Dalton Cemetery, Dalton, MO.
