Eva Sue Chipley

1918 – 2018

Eva Sue Chipley, of Boonville, passed away peacefully at Ashley Manor Care Center on March 14, 2018.  She was 99 years old.

Mrs. Chipley was born May 24, 1918 near New Franklin, Missouri a daughter of Cordie and Vertie Jones Rainsbarger.  On May 10, 1941 she married Floyd Chipley.  He preceded her in death on February 21, 1979. 

She spent the majority of her life in the Boonslick area working at Selwyn Shoe Factory and later at McGraw Edison/Toastmaster, where she retired.  She was a member of the former New Franklin Christian Church.  She enjoyed gardening, shopping trips, cooking, baking and going out for cheese burgers.

Eva was one of ten children.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Marshall, Victor, Ed and Cletus and two sisters, Cordelia Brown and Lavinia Sullins.

She leaves behind two brothers, George Rainsbarger of Penn Valley, California and Cecil Rainsbarger of Enumclaw, Washington.  The family wishes to thank Eva’s cousin and caretaker, Danny Chipley who always treated her with kindness and respect for his care over the years.

Graveside services honoring and celebrating Eva’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Sunday afternoon at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
