Joseph Leon Sandbothe, of Boonville, passed away October 30, 2016 at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia. He was 67 years old.
He was born in Boonville on August 12, 1949 to Leonard and Anna Rose Ward Sandbothe. Joe married Brenda Webster on May 29, 1970. She preceded him in death October 19, 2015.
Joe served his nation with distinction in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been employed with the family business Boonville Daily Express Trucking and also with Nordyne. Joe was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou football and enjoyed fishing and bowling.
He is survived by two sons, Nate Sandbothe of Boonville and Nick Sandbothe and wife, Holly of Columbia; his father, Leonard Sandbothe of Boonville; his grandchildren, Zack, Ryan, Austin and Aubrielle Sandbothe; two brothers, Steve Sandbothe and wife, Janet of Sedalia and Rodney Sandbothe and wife, Sherie of Columbia and by nieces and nephews including Rodney Sandbothe, Stephanie Bryson, Shasta Hartley and Shanina Herbert.
In addition to his wife, Brenda, Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Sandbothe.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Services honoring his life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Burial with military honors will follow services at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, MO.
