Lisa Elias Martin was born in Emporia Kansas (home of beautiful women) on July 6, 1960.  Born to John and Judy Elias, she was the oldest of two brothers, Alan and Michael and one sister, Polly.  She was the beautiful bride of Keith Martin, devoted mother of Daniel Nichols and Marissa Newberry, and loving grandmother to Maddex Newberry and the soon to be born, baby Nichols.

     Her passions in life involved spending time with her family and friends, tending to her beautiful farm and gardens with her husband and caring for her dogs, horses and other animals. She had a great love for all living things; from small animals to the people she met in daily life.  She was a lover of books and music. She had a gift for creating beautiful spaces indoor and out which became her life’s work as she ran her own successful cleaning company.  She faced her struggle with cancer with courage and most of all grace.  During this fight, she taught those around her how to live with faith and love.  She was an extremely talented artist and photographer and was working on a book of her photographs in the last summer of her life.  When asked what to say to those she was leaving behind, she said, “Just tell them I love them.” 

     Services for those who loved her will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Dr., Columbia, MO 65203.
