Mary Swaim Persell, 82, of Columbia passed away July 10, 2016.  

   Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Noix Creek Cemetery, Louisiana, Missouri. 

   Mary was born August 11, 1933 in Callaway County, MO to Pearl J. and Leitha Hankins Tate.  She owned and operated her own beauty salon for many years and later worked at Walmart.  She loved to travel and meet people.  She was a people person that never met a stranger.  Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.

   Survivors include two children, Mike Swaim (Tara) of Springdale, Ark. and Pamela Swaim (Danny) of Columbia; five step-children, John Mulkins (Diane) of Fulton, Leanna Mulkins of Hardin, Ill., Ada Mulkins of Fulton, Robert Mulkins (Donna) of Meppen, Ill., Sheryl Wren (Eddie) of Columbia and seven grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings and husband, John Mulkins.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory are suggested to Oakland Christian Church, 2929 E. Oakland Church Road, Columbia, MO 65202
