Robert Alexander Kountz, of Fayette, passed away February 20, 2017 at the Fayette Caring Center.  He was 82 years old.

He was born August 18, 1934 in St. Louis to William B. and Willie Mae Weissinger Kountz.  Robert was united in marriage to Suzanne Janus on July 25, 1964 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in St. Louis.  Suzanne preceded him in death on March 25, 2007.

Robert was a retired auditor and accountant for the State of Illinois.  He was a member of Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Fayette and a member of the Tuscan Masonic Lodge #360 in St. Louis.  He graduated from Central Methodist in Fayette with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History.  Bob enjoyed gardening and the companionship of his canine friends.

He is survived by his son, Edward B. Kountz of Hiawatha, Georgia and a brother, William B. Kountz  of  Fayette.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. David Hutchinson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery in Wildwood, Missouri.
