Virginia M. Sudduth, 94, of Columbia, passed away on August 18, 2016.

    Virginia was born May 17, 1922 in Hamilton County, Illinois to Elmer and Maude Alfrey Williams. On December 25, 1946 she married Gordon Sudduth in Marshall, Missouri and he preceded her in death.

    She taught high school home economics in several school districts across Missouri. After retiring in 1972, she remained active in alumni activities of the MU College of Human Environmental Sciences and participated in the Heyssel Senior Teacher Educator Partnership (STEP) program that matches senior volunteers with MU medical students.                                       

   She is survived by her son, Kenneth Sudduth and wife, Mary Martin of Columbia and two grandchildren, Amanda Sudduth and Simon Ford.

   She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gray Williams and a sister, Katharine Mezo.
