Darrell Noble Carmichael, 91, of Armstrong, passed away December 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Carmichael was born in Half Rock, Missouri on September 11, 1928 a son of Noble and Opal Carmichael.  He married Betty Tezon on December 6, 1965 in Boonville.  She survives at their home.

Darrell served his nation during the World War II Era in the U.S. Navy from 1945 – 1947 where he was a cook and airplane mechanic.  Following his service he was a mechanic over thirty years for the Rohlfing brothers in Fayette and could fix anything.  Darrell was a beloved and devoted husband and father.

In addition to his wife, Betty, survivors include a son, James Darrell Carmichael; five daughters, Christina McClain, Sheila Stephenson, Corrine Humphrey, Teresa York and Laura Carmichael; a sister, Sue Bileddo; five grandchildren, Darrell Estill, Derek Estes, Briar McClain, Dakota Carmichael and Victoria Durham and five great-grandchildren, Bryson McClain, Mia Carmichael, Vance Estes, Lay Lah Estes and Kinzy Morrow and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren living out of the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Cokie Carter and a brother, Ronald Carmichael.

Services and military honors will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Jacksonville, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to Disabled American Veterans.

Arrangements entrusted to Carr-Yager Funeral Home, Fayette, MO.
