LeAnn Berndt, 59 of Columbia passed away on May 13, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

   Family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel.   A Funeral Servvice will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Chapel.  Burial will take place at Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18. 2017. 

   LeAnn was born August 15, 1957 in Joplin to Leon and Joyce Lankford Krutsinger and they survive.  On July 18, 2009 she married Carl Sieg Berndt in Springfield.  She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and also attended Alive in Christ Lutheran Church.  She received her Bachelor of Education from Drury College and her Masters of Education from Southwest Baptist College.  LeAnn taught in the public school for over 23 years at ten different schools including Hickman and Rock Bridge High Schools.  

   Other survivors include her husband, Carl Berndt; three sons, Tyler Hartzell (Rachael) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Weston Hartzell of Rolla, James Berndt of Boca Rotan, Florida; two daughters, Sarah and Sandra Berndt both of Columbia, a sister, GaLyn Hoelzle (Mark) of Ozark and a granddaughter, Eleanora Rae Hartzell.
