Albert Langerud Obituary

Albert Gus Langerud, 51, of Paris, Missouri, went home to his final resting place on April 20, 2026.

Gus was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on July 9, 1974. He was raised by the love of his father Albert Dennis Langerud and his two mothers, LaRita Jennings and Judy Langerud-McMillan. From a young age he found a passion for music, thanks to the help of his family. They enjoyed traveling around to different towns and playing music together. He was exceptionally proficient at playing the banjo and even went on to play in music competitions later in life. When he wasn't playing music, he was learning the importance of being a hard worker while helping on the family farm. He graduated from Paris High School in 1992, where he continued to work on the family farm and continue with his music. Shortly after, he met Shawna Ainsworth of Hannibal, Missouri. They were married in 1995 on a hot July day and together they shared 29 wonderful years. Together they raised three children, Kayla Langerud, born in 1995, Albert Dylan Eugene Langerud, born in 1997, and Clayton Wayne Langerud, born in 2002.

Gus was a member of Union 513 where he worked for several years as a heavy machinery operator. He loved to be outdoors whether it was mowing, splitting firewood, watching his kids in their passions, or farming. He also loved to work with his hands, often building custom pieces for his banjos or working on his motorcycle. Next to music his most enjoyable hobby was going on motorcycle rides. His pride and joy was a 2008 Super Glide Harley Davidson.

Most of all he was a family man. He was called many things from Son, Brother, Father, and PawPaw. He was always there for his family in times of need. He was always putting smiles on everyone's faces from either cracking jokes, telling funny stories, or chasing his grandchildren around the house.

Gus is survived by his mothers, LaRita Jennings and Judy Langerud-McMillan; spouse Shawna L. Paris, MO; brother Travis Langerud (Shawna S.) of Perry, MO; sister Katie Wilson of Paris, MO; daughter Kayla Langerud of Jefferson City, MO; son Albert Dylan Eugene Langerud (Robyn) of Stoutsville Mo; son Clayton Wayne Langerud (Kathryn) of Columbia, MO; his grandchildren Leland, Jordonna, Kinsley, Oakley, Maverick, Willow, and Blakley.

Gus was preceded in death by his father Albert Dennis Langerud; grandfather Albert Junior Langerud; grandmother Frances Langerud; grandfather Elbert Jennings; grandmother Patsy Clark Jennings; grandfather Walter Jennings; grandmother Mary Lou Jennings.
