Andy Lee Rhorer

Andy Lee Rhorer, 73, of Boonville passed away February 28, 2021 in New Franklin.

Andy was born in Fayette, MO on June 29, 1947 a son of Walter and Nellie Sampo Rhorer.  He married Glenda Ray on May 2, 1969.  She survives at their home in Boonville.

Andy served his nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was employed with the Union Pacific and KATY Railroad for 19 years and with Nordyne for 11 years.  Andy was an avid Kansas City Royals baseball fan.  He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s games and was a surrogate grandpa with the Special Prospects Baseball Family.  Other favorite activities included fishing and mushroom hunting.

In addition to his wife, Glenda, Andy is survived by two sons, Chris (Star) Rhorer and Eric (Maile) Rhorer and a daughter, Amanda Rhorer (Cadilac); four brothers, Ed, Doug, Larry and Terry Rhorer; three sisters, Rosemary Ivy, Linda Clark and Judy Jones and six grandchildren, Connor Rhorer, Andrew Rhorer, Kendall Rhorer, Alex Derrick, Asten Derrick and Brody Rhorer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Becky Rhorer; a brother, James (Ronnie) Rhorer; a sister, Shirley Boyer and by a special family friend and his grandson Andrew’s father, Tim White, Jr.

Visitation will be Friday, March 5 from 5-7 PM at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Memorial services with military honors celebrating Andy’s life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 6 at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Keith officiating.  Those attending the visitation and memorial service are encouraged to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
