Blanche Ellen (Hard) Hanson

Blanche Ellen Hanson, age 86, passed away on August 28, 2026, peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Blanche was born on May 30, 1940, at home in Shade Hill, South Dakota. She married the love of her life Donald Hanson on June 18, 1960.

She was survived by her 4 daughters, Sandra Todd, Barbie Lubbers (Tim), Beth Lane, Sue Jennings (Terry), 9 grandchildren, Donnie Todd (Linda), Tom Todd, Kellie Smith (Curtis), Nikki Hunt (Zach), Jennifer Vollrath (Dan), Jonathan Lane (Stephanie), Trey Jennings (Stormy), Seth Jennings (Taylor), Audrey Oestreich (Gage), 17 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hanson, 2 brothers Walter Hard and Ernie Hard, a grandson, Alex Todd and a Son-in-law, Mike Todd.

She moved from South Dakota to Missouri when she was 5 years old. Moved from Missouri when she was 8 years old to Garner, Iowa. She graduated from High School and attended Mason City Junior College for two years and got her Teacher’s Certificate. She married Don and moved to Aurbana, Iowa to teach for 2 years. In 1963, they moved back to Garner Iowa. In 1977 they moved to Kingdom City, Missouri to farm. She helped build “Parents as First Teachers” in the North Callaway community. She and dad had many entrepreneurships. She was a very active member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, the “Red Hat Society” and recently the widows group. Her greatest love, pride and joy was her family.

A Celebration of Blanche's Life will be held at 7:00 P.M.,Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Hatton, Missouri or the Shriners Children's St. Louis, 4400 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110.
