C. Melvin Fisher, 88, of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Melvin was born October 31, 1932, in Howard County, Missouri, the son of Charley and Martha Hackley Fisher and they preceded him in death. On July 27, 1960, he married Virginia Frazier in Millersburg and she survives. Melvin graduated from the University of Missouri Lab School in 1950. He was a member of Broadway Christian Church in Columbia for over 54 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict (1951-1953). He was an auto mechanic all his life and started Fisher Auto Service in 1976, retiring in 2013.
Melvin is also survived by his children, Debbie Richardson of Moberly, Ron (Laura) Fisher and Carl (Debbie) Fisher, all of Columbia; six grandchildren, Robert Richardson, Hannah (Will) Ryan, Samuel Fisher, James Fisher, Lily Fisher, and Jessica Fisher, and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Ryan.
Private family services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 8th at the Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Broadway Christian Church or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, c/o Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave., Columbia, MO 65202.
