Christina Bohn Rudd Obituary

Christina Elizabeth Bohn Rudd, our loving, sweet, kind, intelligent, and talented wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the age of 33 in Columbia, Missouri.

Christina was born in West Hills, California, on Sunday, October 2, 1988. She was a joy as she filled our home with the sound of her beautiful singing. She loved school, piano lessons, voice lessons, choir, and tennis. She was an outstanding student, and she was salutatorian at Keller High School in Keller, Texas, when she graduated in 2007. She was the valedictorian when she graduated from Brigham Young University’s College of Nursing in 2010. Her first job as an RN was in cardiac care at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas. She later became a cardio-thoracic ICU nurse at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Christina loved serving in positions in her church. She was a natural leader, and she appreciated the gifts and talents of others.

Christina married Jackson Rudd in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in American Fork, Utah, on September 3, 2011. She loved her family dearly, and she was a patient and loving mother. She was delighted to see her children’s personalities, sense of humor, and talents develop. She cherished the special bond between her children.

Christina was a light for her family and for all who knew her. She listened and served without judgment. As one dear friend said, “Christina has always been a powerful force for good. She lived a powerful, uplifting, and inspiring life as she moved around so many different groups of people. She influenced many lives just from her example of kindness, grace, compassion, and true love for others.” Another friend shared, “She was one of the brightest souls I have ever had the privilege of knowing.” One of her bishops wrote, “Christina always stood out as a bright and shining light. She once did a vocal solo in church, and if there will be music in heaven, THAT'S what it will sound like.” Another friend shared, “Christina was an amazing example to me of what it meant to be Christlike! She talked to me whenever I needed a friend.”

Christina is survived by her husband Jackson Rudd; her children, Ezra and Cassidy; her parents, Steve and Marybeth Bohn; her sister and brother-in-law, Marissa and Jesse Welsh, and niece and nephews Emery, Ryker, and Grayson; her father- and mother-in-law, John and Lancy Rudd; sister-in-law, Harmony; her husband, Andrew Hess, and nephews and niece Nathan, Dylan, Ryder, and Ruby; and sister-in-law, Bethany, and her husband, Matthew Tuft, and nephews and niece Abe, Samson, Hyrum, Levi, and Ariel.

Christina suffered from premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which can become more serious the longer it is undiagnosed and untreated. We feel compelled to share the importance of seeking help for premenstrual disorders. Many women and AFAB individuals are misdiagnosed and struggle to get appropriate help for many years. For information on PMDD, and if you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, please visit IAPMD.org.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 11, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4708 Highlands Parkway, Columbia, Missouri, 65203. Visitation is from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, and the funeral service will be at 7:00 pm.
