David Merle Allenbaugh, 77, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Columbia, Missouri.
David was born on July 26, 1948, to the late Elbert and Lena (White) Allenbaugh, in Meeker, Oklahoma. David graduated from Fayette High School in 1965 alongside his older brother Robert. David was a Vietnam Veteran and Retired Army. In May of 1970 David married his beloved wife Margie Ruth Bullard of Boonville, together they shared 47 years of marriage and raised two children. David retired as a training officer from the Boonville Correctional Center.
David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends whether it being a calming night sitting in the garage with friends or going to a piano recital or play for his grandchildren and he was always eager to watch his great grandson race go carts.
David is survived by his children, Daniel (Katie) Allenbaugh of Liberty Mo and Angela (David) Snodgrass of Columbia Mo, seven grandchildren, Codie Snodgrass, Logan (Dragna) Allenbaugh, Landon Allenbaugh, Mason Allenbaugh, Ethan Allenbaugh, Chloe Allenbaugh, Peyton Allenbaugh; one great-grandchild, Caiden Snodgrass.
In addition to his parents, and wife Margie Allenbaugh he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Dale Allenbaugh.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri on July 31, 2026.
