Douglas Jay Bolerjack, 70, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Columbia’s University Hospital.
A Memorial Service and lunch will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4708 Highlands Parkway, Columbia, MO 65203. Following the service, there will be an Open House Celebration of Life Gathering at D. Rowe’s Restaurant, 1005 Club Village Dr, Columbia, MO 65203, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. A family burial will be held at a later date.
Doug was born in Moberly, Missouri on March 4, 1956, to the late Chauncey Arden and Margery Ellen (Wright) Bolerjack. On March 21, 1982, he married Laura Mackie in Houston, Texas.
Doug attended Hickman High School, Southwest Baptist College, and the University of Missouri. Through his business, Bolerjack Insurance Agency, Doug cultivated many, long-lasting friendships; friendships he held dear. For many years, Doug was active with the Columbia Jaycees, holding several positions including 4 years as Board President. With the help of its members, Doug was instrumental in raising funds for many local non-profit organizations. He was also active for many years with the Columbia Northwest Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts of America.
Doug was an adventurer. In his youth, he liked spelunking and rock climbing with friends in Easley, MO. He enjoyed white water canoeing and rafting, hiking, and camping with his family. Doug was an avid golfer, wallyball and softball player, umpire, and duck hunter.
Doug is survived by his wife Laura and daughter Mallory Bolerjack; brother, Paul Bolerjack (Arlene); nephew Charles Kincannon, nieces Amy Hansen (Ryan) and Jodi Himmelberg (Marcus); sister-in-law Robyn Mackie Impero (Jim); nieces Megan Impero and Nikki Demchenko (Ihor); brother-in-law Scott Mackie (Madelyn); nieces Laura Mackie, Lynda Lee (Dylan), Brianna Mackie and nephew James Mackie, and many wonderful cousins.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The Boy Scouts of America, The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, or Voluntary Action Center.
