James Schmidt Obituary
James “Leon” Schmidt, 82, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at University Hospital of Missouri.
James was born on February 19, 1944, to the late James Bryan and Betty Jean (Chipley) Schmidt.
James is survived by his siblings, Linda K. Coleman, Michael E. Heisler, Debra S. Heisler, Rita V. Holly (David); son, James Brandon Schmidt; three grandchildren, Sylas Schmidt, Mason Schmidt, and Kennedy Schmidt.
James was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Martha A. Schmidt, and a brother-in-law, Harold Coleman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
