Rochele Marie Simpson

Rochele Marie Simpson, 42, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at University Hospital.

Rochele was born on August 17, 1980, in Marshall, the daughter of Russell Simpson and Clarissa Banks.

Rochele was such a loving and caring person. She loved her children dearly and would do just about anything for them. She was also a chatterbox and loved holding conversations with new people and people from different walks of life. She wasn’t a big dog person (she always said they “stink” haha.) Then she met her daughter, Ranajah’s dog, Sydney, who she just adored. Anytime they came to visit, she’d talk to Sydney and Sydney’s tail would just wag with excitement. She went through various rough patches beginning at a very young age which reflected poorly on some of her future adult relationships, but she would always swing back around and apologize for her poor behavior. She was oh-so stubborn, if you knew her, you just knew. Rochele always wanted to be able to provide and do things for herself and she very rarely asked for help. Ranajah adored her mom very much and will continue to adore her. Overall, she always worked to better herself and her situation, she told Ranajah that this year, she was going to start searching for jobs again. She hasn’t held a job for many years, and Ranajah was extremely proud of her for taking a big step and just trying. She was a very hard worker, dedicated mother and such a strong woman. Her family will love her always and will cherish the moments spent with her. They will forever miss her presence; however they know she is with them forever and isn’t suffering any longer. She is in heaven catching up with her mom as they have a ton to catch up on. Mom, we love you so much and can’t even begin to imagine how life on earth will be without your presence. Please continue to watch over us as we continue to make you smile. 

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by three children, Ranajah Smith of Columbia, Rynesha Simpson of Kansas City and Javion Simpson of Columbia; her fiancé, Andre Jackson of Columbia; her father, Russell Simpson of the State of California; one sister, Debra Jackson of Marshall; nieces and nephews, Monique Conway, Tanicia Conway, Brian Banks, and Ebony Banks.

Rochele was preceded in death by her mother.

Private family services will be held at a late date.
