Tina Stever Obituary

Tina Marlene Stever (nee Hite), age 52, died on the afternoon of Thursday, August 26th following a valiant struggle with breast cancer.  Her husband of 27 years, Scott, was at her side.  She has two children, Kaitlyn (18) and Nathan (15); the family lives in Columbia, Missouri.  She was born on November 14, 1968 and is preceded in death by her parents Earl (Gene) and Nadine Hite from Kansas City, Missouri.  She leaves behind her siblings, Celeste Burdg (Keith), Randy Hite (Rick), Cindy Brown, and Stacey Hite. She also has many loving in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Tina graduated from Raytown South High School in 1987, then spent a year at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri before transferring to the University of Missouri-Columbia.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences, Consumer Affairs in 1992.

Tina loved being a wife, mother, and friend to many.  She took great joy in her work at Battle High School, interacting with students and loving colleagues.  Her interests involved a love for all kinds of music, genealogy, poetry and getting to know and serving other people.  She was creative and had a quick and witty sense of humor.

Since first being diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2016, Tina quietly, calmly, and bravely faced a series of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and other treatments without complaint.  This was mostly due to her strong faith and belief in God.  She was not afraid to die because she knew she was going home to heaven.
