Although I was only nine years old, I remember well when Cedric stopped to pick up my brother Leon one Sunday evening for a night "on the town." It was December 7, 1941. As Cedric entered the front door of our home, he inquired if we had the radio on today. We had not. He told us about the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor. Little did we know at that time that Cedric and Corky would serve in the U.S. Navy and Leon in the U.S. Air Corp during WWII. Thankfully all three young men returned to MO safely following the end of the war.

I remember your father first as the Manor Bread man and always as a fine example citizen for us as we grew up in New Franklin. He and your mother were so generous and loving. Please realize that our prayers and sympathy are with you at this difficult time.
