Cindy Kay Christal-Atagana, 54, of Columbia, MO entered into her eternal rest on November 8, 2016 in St. Louis, Mo. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Silas Atagana, three sons, Ryan Nichols of Ashland, Samuel Atagana of Columbia, and Jervis Atagana and fiancé Katie Jackson of St. Charles, one daughter-in-law Leah (Nick) Boston, one adored granddaughter, Greenlee Anna Grace Fletchall-Atagana, her parents, Jim & Nancy Christal of Moberly, and Kathy Simpson of Columbia, one sister, Rosie Christal-Arand & husband Ben Arand, one brother, Jeff Christal & wife, Theresa, and nephew, Zach Christal. She is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends. Preceding her in death are her maternal and paternal grandparents. With an extended, blended family, Cindy never needed to designate who was part of her family; once you were in her life, in her heart, you were hers.

Cindy was born on December 24, 1961 in Moberly, MO.  She is a 1980 graduate of Harrisburg High School. She studied Photo Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Cindy met her best friend, Becky (Mann) Johnson and her future husband, Silas, on January 1, 1981. From that point forward, the date was treasured by Cindy, and celebrated as their anniversary. Cindy loved her family and friends with her whole being.  She loved spending time with family and friends, photography, reading, writing, refurbishing furniture, designing jewelry, and many crafts. Cindy was very articulate and could retell an amazing tale from the simplest, mundane occurrence. She had beautiful penmanship and her attention to detail could make any occasion, or no occasion, extra special. She will be greatly missed by those who love her. Cindy worked at Woodhaven as a caregiver and devoted her life to working with people with disabilities. This vocation was near and dear to her heart.

A visitation will be held at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel in Columbia, MO, on Monday, November 14, 2016, from 5-6 PM, with memorial services directly following.
