My heart goes out to your family. Karsen was a very special young man and he will be missed. He was such a joy to have in class at Heritage. My heart and prayers are with you. I truly wanted to be at the funeral, but I was out of state and unable to get there for it.

I was very touched by all the nice things said by people who knew your Son. How difficult it must be to move on with your life without your precious Son even though he's in no more pain ! As mention in the song (Move) our prayer of a time when there is no more death (Revelation 21:3-5) has not been answered by our Heavenly Father, yet. I hope that you will continue to be comforted by family and friends yes even strangers (like me) till our prayers are answered.

Saddened to hear of your loss. I was honored to have Karsen in 2 classes at Heritage Academy. He was always so thoughtful, attentive, compassionate towards others, and a brilliant student. He was a bright light in this world. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm Cole's mom. I am so sorry for your loss. I always loved it when Karsen and Cole would come by. They were crazy and funny. I loved when Karsen would play his guitar and sing. I loved that he felt comfortable enough to do that. I could never get over that gorgeous smile. I know he was often hurting behind that smile. He was kind, well mannered, talented, friendly and fun. I will miss him as well. I'm sorry this tragedy occurred and that he was looking for peace. You raised a fine young man. Prayers for comfort, strength and calmness. May many great memories with Karsen help you through.

I'm glad that you had the blessing of knowing my son. Yes, he was a great, compassionate, fun-loving, handsome, happy, talented, Christian young man. He wasn't "looking for peace" because he had inner peace from knowing Christ as his Savior. He didn't have a healthy, pain free shell, but he did have all the love and support we could provide. Karsen had a lot to live for and so many were touched by his selfless compassion but God needed him in Heaven. Though we don't understand why, God chose that specific time to take my baby, whom he loaned to me for 22 years, home to be with him. Karsen's Mom

It was so difficult to get up this morning even though sleep wasn’t really happening. We are overwhelmed with the love and support that was expressed to our family yesterday. We feel God gave Karsen a message a few weeks ago through a song on the radio. It deeply touched him and he shared it with his sister Kalyn. As we were planning the funeral, God brought it back to her mind. It is the song Move from Toby Mac. Here are the lyrics. Please read them carefully and take them to heart. Then, remember Karsen and know that he is moving, walking, running, dancing, singing, playing and slam dunking in Heaven!

"Move (Keep Walkin’)"
Another heartbreak day Feels like you’re miles away
Don’t even need no shade When your sun don’t shine, shine

Too many passin’ dreams Roll by like limousines
It’s hard to keep believin’ When they pass you by and by

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
I know you’re feeling like you got nothing left
Well, lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet

Echoin’ inside your head
Are the words that your sweet momma said,
“shoot for the moon, my dear”
So you took aim out of this atmosphere
Between high stakes and pump fakes
You’re feelin’ like you can’t buy a break
I can hold your hand, but I can’t turn your eyes to freedom

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
I know you’re feeling like you got nothing left
Well, lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet

Hold on, hold on
Lord ain’t finished yet
Hold on, hold on
He’ll get you through this
Hold on, hold on
These are the promises
I never will forget
I never will forget [x2]

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet..
