Dear Susan, Genny and Courtney,
We are very sorry to hear of Tom's death. We were in Columbia last week and friends remembered that we were once neighbors of yours and saved the obituary for us. Our favorite memory of Tom was when we got an old upright piano so our kids could begin lessons. Tom came over to "warm it up"! He was an amazing talent and so very enthusiastic. Such fun…don't think that old piano has ever sounded that joyful since!
You have our sympathy,
Ken and Betsy

Tom, or "Bop-its" as Donnie Smith called him, was the life of every Sigma Nu party and was just generally the spark of every day around the chapter house. His energy, enthusiasm and good cheer were contagious. Those were great years and Tom was very much a part of them -- sports, singing, Savitar Frolics, even studying. From Campus Town races to the Coronado, Bop-its was in the middle of it all and made us all better men. God bless you, Susan, and your family. Tom, RIP.

Rho Chapter sends condolences to Tom's family. Tom was a valuable contributor to Rho Chapter during his "Chapter Advisor" days in the 1960's. There have been over 1500 members through the Chapter House that he helped so much since then..

We are very sorry for your loss.

From a member of the Savitar Owl Hoot gang of many years ago. A fine memory of a fine man with a good taste for a laugh.

Judy and I will miss Tom and his ever bright smile whenever we would see him at Booches. He was a very special person who always made you feel as if you were the most important person in the crowd. Your family are in our thoughts and we know he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Susan and family:

Tom was a dear friend and colleague. His memory will live on as will his many contributions to the University of Missouri (and Channel 8) and Columbia. I am reminded of a float trip down the Gasconade River on a beautiful autumn day with Tom and other friends (and a few cold brews). Our love and condolence to all of you at this difficult time.

Tom gave me my first big break when I was hired as KOMU-TV's Sports Director at age 22. He was a tremendous leader and was loved by the entire Channel 8 team. I miss hearing his voice saying the familiar "Hey babes" as we would pass in the hall. About a year ago, I was with our son having a burger at Booche's. Surprise, Tom was there playing snooker. I was happy to introduce him to Clayton and say, "I want you to meet the man who gave me my first full-time job." Thanks again Tom. Rest in peace.

Susan and family, so sorry for your loss of Tom. He was such a great guy and we are very happy that we had an opportunity to know him. Gary enjoyed the times they played golf together with Tom, Gerald Brouder and Jim Bunton.
Gary remembers when he talked to Tom about his upcoming retirement. He told Tom he could now spend more time at Booches. Tom replied "I don't think so".
He will be missed.

May God bless and care for Susan, Genney and Courtney during this difficult time. Tom was a wonderful individual who will be missed by many. He lived life to the fullest. If anyone was a perfect brother he was it. I will miss him dearly in the days and years to come. But I have many of the great memories of our childhood together. There are so many stories tat could be told that it would take a long period of time to complete. Tom I loved you and was so proud to have you as a brother.
Your loving brother,
Bill
